What Is My Body Telling Me?

The Dark Cloud

When a dark cloud looms inside of us, do we open our senses there and then to understand it’s purpose or do we just distract ourselves?

How do we know what is best?

What My Body Told Me

I had to laugh (and cry) the other morning.

On my walk, I had the delight of a furry head and nose slightly lowered and making a b line for me, lead taught, pulling his human fast behind.

The wiggling of his bottom was getting bigger as he approached.

He looked like his eyes were smiling when he got close and we had the biggest cuddle and patting session.

This show of affection brought tears to my eyes.

Then, just as my dark cloud was about to take hold…

Blasting out of a passing car was someone singing, well shouting really…

“…CELLLLLLLLL-EEE-BRATE GOOD TIMES, COME ON!”!!!

The timing of it was crazy.

It snapped me out of my reverie.

I was then laughing and crying for a couple of seconds, then managed to continue on my walk with dry eyes.

As I walked, the thoughts that came were…

OK… that stopped me.  Do I just need distraction?  As someone had suggested to me the other day.  Why focus on the emotions and other stuff?  Why not just get on with life?

And so I did.

I walked, I did my qi gong, fully embracing each of the 5 elements as I moved and felt some stiffness shift into fluidity in my body.  I began my day.

Later in the day, however, little did I know that the dark cloud had secretly got bigger, which then physically stopped me in my tracks

The tears began welling up, and I was unable to just get on with my day, it was like an uncontrolled boiling pot.

And so, I did what I usually do…

I leaned into my current feelings, and allowed the waves of emotion, to splash over me.

I allowed the emotions to speak.

I took a shower. I listened and felt everything I needed, as the water splashed over my stiffness and niggles.

I noticed where the dark cloud was, the way it was affecting my body.  How my body was holding itself, where I bent and twisted, where I was holding tension.

I listened to all I was being shown and how I was feeling.

Then and only then, was I able to receive all the insights I was needing.  It felt like the rainbow came and shone its light on what I was needing to understand and let go of.

After 5mins of cleaning myself both physically and emotionally, I stepped out of the shower feeling clean, fresh, and all emptied out.

This then enabled me to really and truly… get on with my day 😊

The Joyful Cricket

She holds the pink picnic rug material as the wind ripples through it like a cape in her wide arms.

Once the rug flutters to the ground, the picnic is then set out.

She takes a bite of strawberry, lazily leaning on her elbow with her legs stretched out.

The juices run down her chin before she smooths them away with the back of her hand.

Then, lying down with her hands behind her head, she gazes up towards the sky, observing the cloud formations.

As it passes through the trees, the wind caresses each branch and flutters its leaves.

Time stands still.

She notices a little dark cloud somewhere inside of her.

On taking a deep breath expanding her ribs, she feels the movements stretch the skin surrounding her heart.

She releases a groan on her out breath and notices there is an accompaniment to her voice.

Her eyes roll around as she opens them to scan for the source.

She sees a tiny pair of eyes looking up at her.

They blink.

Time stands still.

The little cricket jumps up and begins a cabaret number, following his little umbrella back and forth in choreographed moves.

A hairy spider joins him out of nowhere and gently lifts him up, so he can now perform his aerial graceful moves swinging through the air back and forth.

Together they move in synchronicity.

The spider finishes his part of the routine, and disappears.

She watches as the little cricket floats down on an air current, Mary Poppins style, easily holding his umbrella above him as he points his little toe.

As he lands on the rock, his little feet now in tap shoes, he continues the show. He performs a series of complicated moves entrancing his observer with the tappity-tap rhythm.

Tap, TAP!  He ends the show in the shape of a golden star.

Her eyebrows raised fully, she briefly closes her disbelieving eyes.

Then a bewildered frown takes hold as she gazes down at the cricket once more.  He is simply staring his big eyes back up at her from his original position.

They stare at each other in silence.

She hears the wind passing through the trees again, then feels it caress her face and hair.

She closes her eyes and allows the feeling to guide her back down into the memory of her Mother’s lap, as her hair is lovingly caressed.

She feels the warmth fill her heart and spread out towards the dark cloud, and observes as it melts like candy floss.

She breathes in the scent of the fresh flowers filling her lungs up, feeling her heart fully supported from the gifts of the past and the present.

With glistening soft tears in her eyes, she says out loud “mmmm… all mine”.

Life may actually be a picnic when we take the time for ourselves to get back to nature and the moment.

Our senses can be used for good and to help calm us, allowing time for us to be still and enjoy the moment.

When we rush through life seeking something externally to fulfil us, we may miss out on the little joys in the blink of an eye… a cute cricket and his hairy assistant entertaining and performing their little hearts out for us!

How to transform dark clouds into a rainbow

I do know that life may feel challenging at times.  It may bring grief, sorrow, loss, hurt, shame, guilt, pain, or many uncomfortable situations and emotions felt.  However, there is always hope when we open ourselves to receive help.  When we are able to see the signs, feel supported, and receive assistance and healing insights, this may be the key to get us through such times.

We can ask ourselves…

…Do I have a network of people, a community for general day to day support?

…Have I access to therapeutic supportive goodies, and ways to nourish and vitalise my cells through these times?

…Am I able to keep my band of mind, body and spirit together in harmony?

…Do I have a trusted Therapist who I am comfortable to fully open up to, whilst getting to know myself, and gaining clarity over a situation, a discomfort, or past event?

…Am I able to be in the present, and not need to keep chasing the mirage far, far, away towards neverland at the end of the forever moving rainbow?

…Can I disperse my dark clouds and reduce my boiling pot, into my own pot of gold at the end of my very own rainbow sitting inside of me?

Am I ready to listen to my body and enable it to heal?

Will you join me to sit in the moment and get to know yourself?

Are you ready to take the biggest challenge of all and STOP?

Stop to listen to yourself and your needs?

Can you stop needing to be busy, and find the stillness within, taking your foot off the acceleration pedal?

Are you ready to reduce the negative talk of “not good enough”, “don’t deserve to be”, “not worth spending time with” etc?

Do you want to know what may be stopping you, from actually STOPPING?

Are you ready to conquer any fears of facing your biggest critic, yourself, or the dark cloud that may be lurking within yourself?

Are you ready to release it from wherever it may have been locked away or free it from a scary gargoyle guardian?

Are you ready to see there is beauty within, to disperse and release the cloud?  To reveal and meet your intuition, your inner wisdom and knowing?

YES!

Enough questions!

I get it.

Kinesiology and Understanding What Our Bodies Are Telling Us

Sometimes we can just get in the shower and wash off our troubling dark cloud and feel cleansed. Sometimes we need help to find it and release it.

Sometimes we can see and experience all the fun and enjoyment life has to offer. Sometimes our black cloud covers over all the good stuff and we need assistance to understand it and find a path through.

Sometimes we need to be told or shown that there is a black cloud so it can be dispersed.

It is the noticing and being honest with ourselves that is most helpful.

It is time to understand and release tension, from limiting beliefs, toxic/stuck emotions or trauma.

It is time to regain the smooth flow of blood, to fill our energy reserves, and clean out our pipes, tubes and containers of waste.

It is time to learn to how to understand the indicators written all over face and body so we can replenish our minerals, for our bodies to have the chance to return to homeostasis and do what it does best, to look after us.

It is time to find love of self, find our passion and our purpose.

It is time to find out how to really know ourselves and understand what we enjoy, what triggers us, and how to tap into our inner knowing, as Aristotle says…

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom” Aristotle

Find yourself a Holistic Kinesiologist or Integrated Therapist. One who you can feel comfortable with. We are like detectives, using precious skills to interpret body signs towards identifying valuable insights into what bodies are asking us to communicate to their owner. We can provide essential support through challenging times when feeling a bit raw, to help you feel more comfortable.

Then with our support team formed, we practise, practise, practise, and practise some more.

After all, with anything in life, when we want to improve and get proficient at something, we practise it.

We know we are capable of improving by practise, because we have seen this from years of getting so good at the stuff we don’t want, by practising that with our attention and focus!

We can begin by focusing on the good stuff, the changes we wish to improve.

Practise nourishing movements.

Practise eating real food and drinking enough pure water to hydrate our bodies to optimise health.

Practise getting to know ourselves, practise being connected and calm.

Practise being honest with ourselves and others.

Practise listening to our wise bodies.

Practise being ourselves.

Together, let’s transform old unhelpful negative dark clouds into clearer blue skies and rainbows.

Let’s focus on reinforcing what we do want and need.

I look forward to assisting you and your whole family, fur family and all, in your next enlightening session. Thank you for listening and trusting me. I wish you fun in your daily positive practise of listening to your true self for Optimus True Being 😊
