What a Hoot to Truly See
“Ooooh the pain” she gasped clenching her stomach.
She inhaled softly and slowly.
She briefly paused at the top of her breath to open up her senses.
It was her heart.
She released her breath outward in an understanding sigh.
The next breath came in at a sprint. It filled her whole lungs until her dawning yawn roared out of her mouth. Time briefly stopped as her torso expanded, with a finale of a soothing exhale.
Goosebumps instantly covered her back and she shivered.
She sat in stillness.
It was all too much she realised as her forehead laid down on the table, nestling into her wrist.
She let her awareness pour into the centre of her chest.
The tension began to reveal itself.
‘Ouch’ she thought.
Now her shoulders and neck were being listened to and heard, they began to melt.
‘Funny‘ came the next chuckling thought, after noticing the side of her right wrist’s was pushing the edge of the table.
‘Oh, how apt‘ she thought with a smile, noticing her breaths were feeling restricted by some hidden force.
She allowed her awareness bubble to expand until it engulfed her body.
She could feel the edge of the table digging into her chest now. She adjusted her feet flat on the ground.
She inhaled the waft of beeswax, deep into her lungs which eased them a little.
The image of a steam train came floating across her vision, and as the steam cleared, the owl blinked at her.
“Well. You’ve gotten yourself into a wee but of a pickle” he exclaimed in his kiwi accent.
“Yes I know, thanks for that” she exhaled.
“You’re very welcome” he hooted as he opened his wings and tottered on his little claws wobbling from side to side excitedly.
“What’s next?” he enquired raising his eyebrows.
She straightened herself up, stretching her arms out and up, landing on her head. They clasped each other in comfort as they sat there waiting too.
The owl continued to totter with his little wings outstretched.
Her right shoulder began to protest in its position as if it was held against its own wishes.
The tension in her chest continued.
Her belly twinged, so she observed that with a blank mind.
Interestingly she noticed what felt like a wall above it. As she simply observed it, the twinging muscles eased slightly as she leaned back against the chair expanding her chest.
The wall felt like it was in battle with her right shoulder the way they were behaving.
Quick as a flash, a white bird with its body full outstretched, darted from her right to her left like it was on a mission, ‘curious’ she thought!
Her shoulders then relaxed, and her nose appeared to take up the battle.
Her eyes raised to the pulsating on top of her head.
The owl continued to totter, wings outstretched observing her.
On leaning further back in the chair, she felt her abdomen stretch like it was creating a path across the wall.
Her shoulders fully relaxed, taking away the discomfort.
The owl blinked and ceased it tottering. It tucked its wings back into their folds behind him.
It stared at her with his incredibly wide eyes.
The sound of the “pink panther” film rang in her ears lifting her heart as another smile formed on her lips and eyes.
“Focus not on the armour of protection” it said cryptically.
“See the soul within”
Burp! Another release escaped her body as a torrent of imaginary water gushed upwards from her belly to her head, to then cascade up and out of the top.
She could feel everything that had been feeding her tension, that she had been holding onto and stuck in her system.
She was able to let it all go. All her judgements, expectations, fears, worries, everything she had been taking to heart and holding onto, festering inside of her, was being nicely carried away, flowing out of her head.
Now she was able to be fully in the present, with a cleaned out mind and body.
Get out of our head and see the soul
When she got out of her overthinking, overanalysing head, she was able to trust her own senses and reduce any reactivity.
She felt liberated, releasing the weight of problems that belonged to others.
This freed herself up to have the space and energy to focus and deal with her own.
She was able to wisely see through all the defensive patterns, layers and barriers to see what mattered most… the soul.
This gave her the opportunity to see and connect to her own soul, to look after it and be who she was meant to be… herself.
When she was truly herself, she was able to stand strong in her own comfortable space.
Now she could be a calming energy for those who she wished to be with, or offer support to.
Staying ourselves… an essential skill
To stand in the company of someone and remain ourselves is a massive achievement.
Empaths* can easily be knocked out of themselves and off centre, if they do not remain in their own skin and space as themselves.
Us sensitive people, may be at risk of taking on emotions or pains in an attempt to help, fix or protect others.
Taking on others discomfort, in a way, can be unhelpful not only to the sensitive person but also the person they are surrogating for.
Being able to show our true face
It can also be a huge drain of energy to maintain an inner war as we keep up a charade of being someone we are not, using all our energy to just “survive”.
We do not need to soldier on in an attempt to prove something to others or ourselves. We want to save our energy, after all, we do not need to prove anything to anyone, do we?
It can destroy our essence and joy, when we are constantly vigilant, watching what we say, waiting for cues from others to tell us how to behave, think, respond and what to believe.
Who wants to continue living in fear of saying the wrong thing when the important thing is to be honest to ourselves and acknowledge our own essence.
Wouldn’t it be so much easier to be ourselves in the first place, to understand ourselves, and be aware of what makes us tick, what triggers us?
How lovely would it be to acknowledge how we are feeling, to receive comfort and guidance to nurture our true nature.
It is a strength to be kind to ourselves, then we can truly care for others and support them being themselves.
What a gift it is to be honest to people we love, and ourself, so we can truly enjoy the time we have standing strong as ourselves.
Having a hoot of a time!
I hope you can find joy in the little things, to feel like tottering on your legs with your wings outstretched.
Why not have a go at seeing all your internal and external signs to feel better.
Widen your eyes with childlike wonder.
I wish you and your senses success in experiencing daily bouts of having a hoot of a time.
Here’s to lifting our hearts, and letting our chests be full of fun, laughter and enjoyment the present.
I am available for both; in person Kinesiology sessions in Tascott NSW; and Kinesiology sessions online. Group sessions are on the horizons, watch this space 🙂 I look forward to assisting you to feed your inner child, open up your senses to release tension and stand strong in your own wonderful space xo
